Windows and Door

Last week, the windows and front door were installed. The electrician started wiring. The plumbing began. There are wires and tubes all over the place. Here are a few pictuers of the exterior of the house. The shingles are on the back side of the house. I guess the whole roof will be done in the next few days. I'm looking forward to having tomorrow off. Hopefully I will be able to pick out the last of the items for my house ... countertops, finalize lighting, maybe even flooring. We'll see.

One week later

Not too much has changed on the house in the last week. The painter started on the exterior trim, and the electrician stopped by to place the outlets (the A/C people did some stuff, and while that is very important, it isn't photo worthy). There is also a dumpster out there now (didn't take a picture of that either). We'll see how much trash still ends up all over the yard. Since not much changed on the outside, I thought I would put a few pics of the interior today. Hopefully the descriptions will help, but I'm sure it is hard to visualize everything until you have seen it in person. Here they are.

The Living Room ... looking toward the backyard. The kitchen is to the left, master bedroom to the right.

The Kitchen ... from the living room. The sink will be under the window. The island will start right around the pipe sticking out of the floor, that is where the island sink is going to be.

My Bedroom ... looking toward the back yard. You can't really see much, but I took the picture so I posted it.

The Spare Bedrooms ... standing in the kitchen, facing the front of the house. Eventually, the fridge, range, and microwave will be in the picture instead. And cabinets, if I can ever get the guy to call me back!

Just a few changes, mainly much of the trash is gone!

Looks Like a House

Shortly after the slab was poured, the exterior of the house was up. I know things will slow down soon, but it took no time for it to actually look like a house. Here are pictures from Sunday, February 8, 2009. I haven't had a chance to go by this week, but I don't think too much has changed.

The Beginning...

So, construction finally began on my house! I was beginning to think this day would never come. I think the slab was actually poured January 28. Here are a few pictures of what things first looked like.
